TRENCH Comedy/Film Noir Length: 129.59 min Feature film world premiere followed by filmmaker Q and A Director: Paul Anthony Nelson Producer: Perri Cummings/Paul Anthony Nelson
Reclusive writer Becky Holt is being stalked in her home. Struggling comedian Sam Slade is being evicted from hers. When Sam decides to play detective for cash, these two oddballs are thrown together to crack the case… if they don’t get themselves killed first. Trench is a woman-powered, black-and-white comedy/film-noir set in modern-day Melbourne – a collision between classic cinema and the messy, conflicted world we live in today.
Cinema Viscera are an award-winning Melbourne filmmaking collective comprised of director-screenwriter-editor Paul Anthony Nelson and actor-screenwriter Perri Cummings. Together, they have made five short films (including Cigarette, Talkback and Scope) a handful of corporate videos, two handfuls of actor show reels and, now, their very first feature film, Trench.
